Well, Im about to clean my Eheim 2262 for the first time...its been like 5months. I know I should have done it sooner,but I have been intimidated by the project at hand! Any tips?

just finished...it wasnt that bad at all. It will be ALOT more easy if I invest in another bag for the ceramic rings to go into. I will be doing that shortly and just keep it on hand until I clean this filter again. I discovered baby MTS in the filter...oh well...I guess we all get them eventually.250gallon-Wild Angels, community

Yeah MTS love to live in the filter eating up all the crap. Its really easy to clean that thing if you have the media in the bag because you can pull it out and hose it down a little and rinse the canister out real quick and throw it all back together.

When I clean my filter, I always use aquarium water to clean. just pull the bag out with media and dip in a bucket to loosen the crap out and throw them back in the eheim with new filter floss. never use untreated tap water as it kill your bio load.

I use Bio Bale, so its really easy to clean those things.

If you dont mind copper, dose with had a snail, put all 125 drops in your filter.
