So I need to buy some equipment for my 260g and my first thought was ebay. The only equipment I bought off ebay was odyssea canister filter. I need a protein skimmer and RO/DI unit. Anyone had any success with non-name brand items off ebay?

Better than eBay try with reefcentral. About eBay the only no named brand that I bought were uv lamps for coralife and works really well IMO. -
I used a 110gpd rodi off ebay, and it was great. I used it for several years, without any problems. I would suggest taking a look into pumps to get the pressure up, or it will run a little slower. For a skimmer i would look on marsh reef, they have pm bullets almost every week for cheap. i would never even consider a cheap protein skimmer.Got Dovii??? I do!!!Comment

oneoffcustom, I feel the same way about the skimmer. The prices on ebay are just to good to be true for the skimmers. I was going to buy a RO/DI unit yesturday off ebay but just wanted some opinions first.Comment

well like i said i got mine off there and so did my cousin, and his buddy. I had a 75g, cousin a 250g, and buddy a 525g, and we all were very pleased for 150$ rodi. I would deffinatly reccomend for the price saving.
