Purigen says it should not be used if stress coat is used. I dont think purigen becomes toxic, it simply removes the stress coat from the water and becomes in active (ie the two products stops each other from working like they should)

its in the product description.
Purigen is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all others, even hypersorb , by over 500%. Purigen removes proteins, nitrites and nitrates, ammonia, and a broad spectrum of organics, yet its impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity. Like Hypersorb , Purigen darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with household bleach. A 100 ml bag of Purigen purifies and polishes up to 100 gallons of water for up to six months. Purigen is designed for both marine and freshwater use. Not to be used with any products with slime coat in them as this can cause the product to become toxic.Last edited by Rico; 11-11-2009, 12:16 PM.fishless

on the seachem site it says prime can be used to regenerate.
Regeneration: Soak in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours in a non-metalic container in a well ventilated area and away from children. Rinse well, then soak for 8 hours with a solution containing 2 tablespoons of ChlorGuard™, Prime®, or equivalent dechlorinator per cup of water. Rinse well. For freshwater use, soak for 4 hours with a solution containing 1 tablespoon of buffer per cup of water (Discus Buffer™, Neutral Regulator™, or Acid Buffer™). Original color and full activity should now be restored and Purigen® is ready for reuse. Caution: some slime coat products may permanently foul Purigen® and render regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if odor of chlorine is detectable. In case of doubt, soak beads in small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test kit.fishless

I would say that if they list Prime as a solution to dechlorinate the water its completely safe to use together. They would never list it if it caused their product to become toxic.

Yes its up and running..
Its the 180 that is listed in my signature.
Come Thanksgiving its getting overhauled.
Everything out, cleaned up, returned with the Kiku going back into the 70 for a while and the Chilambo and Dubs are going to be returned to the 180.
I am having cross breeding occurring right now in the tank and that has to stop.
