  • Advice on the Quiet One 2200 by Lifeguard

    Hello All,

Just got a good deal on this model, took it out of the box to put in my tank and I can't get the bleepin' intake attachment off to switch it out for the one that I can put inside the lift tube of a sponge filter. Is it stuck? Am I a moron and am missing something obvious? I've tried putting the handle end of scissors next to the notches to move it, but it won't buge!!

Also, are these good products or should I just return it? It seems sturdy. The package has it labled for wet and dry applications.

    Thanks for your help.
    Jenney.

Not sure what your looking at, maybe you could examine it closer in better lighting?

Maybe your just missing some little tab or something?

      Jenney,
I have several of those pumps the 3000 and 4000, the attachments are very difficult to get off. I have to use the the handles from a set of pliers to get it off. Just be sure to take it off slowly or the plastic tabs could break off. I love the pumps, but just a bad design on that particular piece.

Yeah, like they illustrate in the user's manual?
I'll take it to work tomorrow and let the ex marine man handle it off.. Gently and with precision, of course.

I think they are, they come with 4 rubber feet to dampen the vibrations, besides the running water in the wet/dry return lines drowns out the pump noise.

              Thanks for the help, guys.
I just needed someone with stronger hands to wrench it off.
The male intake for lift tube went into the slot with no problems.

When you get a NEW in the box MAG drive it will come with the rubber pad.. 99% of people look at that piece and never install it and throw it away.. I installed it on mine and my MAG are dead quiet. Like what was said above.. water going though the overflow is more noisy.
