I personally dont like the LED lights. I think they are a cool looking light, but the LED's do absolutely nothing to enhance the tank. I saw it in person today and was not impressed. Plus, $600 for lights is RETARDED!!!! To each his own....but I like the plain old power compacts. I say scratch the MH's and the LED's.

lol, Rex you got to check out some of the others LEDs man.

The one Randell got is 6000k and non-dimmable. They do make them in all different K -ratings too.

I think the main plus side to LEDs is that they have a very long life span (5-7 years). You do not have to change the bulbs like CF, T5, or MH/HQI.

In the long run you save money that way.

How much for the 24" and can they be used for a planted 20gal. (24x16x12) WxHxD? Or are they not powerful enough?

i just picked up this light from city pets, got their last 36-48". Looks pretty nice so far.

The 18-24" goes for around 90, and the 24-36" goes for about 130. It gives a fair amount of light, but don't expect to grow many plants with this light.

If it lights the tank up nicely, that would be a huge savings in electrical costs
