  • Looking for PFS

I'm looking for the pool filter sand from Leslie's that is white. I bought some from a Leslie's way up on 249 about six months ago, but now all I can find in southwest Houston is the brown stuff that looks like it came from Galveston. Does anyone know of a location that carries it?

    It's this stuff:

    Thanks,

The stuff I bought in Meyerland at Braeswood and Chimney Rock isn't white white, but I definitely wouldn't call it brown.

I talked to the Leslies in the Med Center a while back. Apparently they sell more of the sand in the link to people for aquariums (including the Houston Zoo and Museum of Natural Science) than for pools at that location!
      Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Do you happen to still have the bag with the part number?

Um. . . I just bought some on Tuesday. I haven't opened it yet, so I'm not sure what color, but it does look like the bag in your picture.

It was the Leslie's in the strip mall on the corner of Bellaire and Buffalo Speedway.

It's still in the car, and I'm heading out to grab a bite, so I'll bring it in and have a look for you.
Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )

I believe I found what I was looking for. I went to a Leslie's yesterday, and they had an open bag. When I put some in my hand, I realized that the vast majority of it was quartz-like, so it will show up close to white under the light. It looks tan in the bag, however, which I think threw off most of the Leslie's people when I was calling and asking. I bought four bags. I have some tanks to set up this weekend, so once I get them set up with lights, I'll know for sure.

            Thanks to everyone that responded!
