  • Lighting question for african cichlid tank...

    I have a 92 gallon corner tank w/ 2 - 36" and 2 - 24" VHO t12 bulbs run by a icecap. the icecap is giving me problems and I am considering a total redo to t5. I know output is more w/ t5, but will 2 36" be enough light? How about 4 - 24" bulbs?

Also, what brands of retrofits are recommended? Thanks...

Are you keeping peacocks and assorted Malawi Cichlids? If so, you don't need all that light. If you like it super bright..rock and roll..I personally love the look of the Marineland LED fixtures. I use a 36" LED on my 180g and it works great. The t5 fixtures give off a "fake" look in my opinion.
