I did not know that sodium bisulfate is a acid that will lower your ph. After all it's the dechlorinater that we use in our tanks.

yep, HCL is a by product. not sure if commercial dechlorinators use buffers but it would only lower it at most 0.2 during dosing for a water change so i wouldn't worry. good info though john.
