    That would allow me to add about 60g worth of volume to my system and I was planning on doing a display section for random fish I can't keep in the main display.

    The more volume the happier the fish.

            I think for the most part buying a used one is fairly cheap so there's no reason to build one, plus to piece one together with the HOB overflow could get expensive.

            fshfrk runs all DIY sumps in his house and has some BEASTLY set ups, Kiko is running a 20g DIY sump on his 55g

                  In my 210g I run two 2260 and ADG wet/dry that can handle a 500g tank hooked to a Iwaki external pump. For flow I use two Sureflow modded MJ 1200's.
