  • Rena Xp3 leaking!

Recently did some filter maintenance, plugged it back in everything worked fine. The next morning im walking by the tank and I hear my air pump vibrating so I open the cabinet to move the air pump and notice a wet spot near the power cord of the Xp3. Water is running down the cord of the filter, not an extreme amount but enough to make a small puddle over night. Anybody ever had this happen or any ideas on how to rectify this situation? As a temporary fix I just wrapped a small towel around the cord to soak up what ever leaks. Thanks!

I have a XP 2 and have had a small leak similar to this. I had cleaned everything and wiped all the O-ring grease off. But that wasn’t my problem what had happened was the valve quick disconnect wasn’t seated all the way. I re-lubed the O-rings and made sure the valve quick disconnect was seated all the way.

Also worth checking out. This is what the trouble shooting section in the manual says to check….

      >Water is leaking from where the power cord passes out of the motor housing
_ Make sure the filter is no more than 55" (140 cm) below the water level. If it is deeper, raise the filter.
_ Check the hoses and make sure they have not been cut too short or stretched too far creating tension on the Quick-Disconnect. If the hoses have been cut to short, change them.
