I just picked up a 35gal the other day. It came with this Marineland Eclipse 3 Hood. How does this thing work? It appears to be a really big mess collecter.

It also came with a Fluval Underwater Filter U4 260gph. Anyone ever use one of these? Goods or bads?

    Thank's for your help.

Marineland Eclipse Hood- the filters on these things are usually in adequate. The flow is ok but the issue is that there is not enough media space for proper filtration. It will catch all the solid stuff, but that's really all it does (mechanical only, poor biofiltration). I had one of these a few years back, I had to use a canister filter. I just dismantled to hood filter.

No Bio wheel. I had no intentions on using it anyway. I have another filter I put on it. It really did look like a crap collecter. I do have to say, it's a nice hood. I'm all about the clean look.

No background. The tank is trimmed in black and the stand is black. Really nice looking. I need new bulbs. Only one is working at the moment.
