How do I achieve a deep blue water look on my 150 g cichlid setup

  • #2
Moved to Chemistry/Equipment. Ideally, you'd water the water clear . . . and you would paint the back ot the tank drak blue. Just my two cents though. Take it for what its worth. Add LEDs or halides for that shimmer look.
    Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Just add some "Actinic" bulbs into your lights and it will give you the look that you are going for.

Ya, you need actinics. The shimmer from LEDs or metal halides would be an expensive mod (and high energy cost for the halides), for an effect that's only found in SHALLOW water.
