  • Marineland Double Bright LED flashing every morning

One of my Marineland Double Bright LED lights flashes every morning when it comes on. I have it on a timer, and every morning for about the past month, it flashes. It's a steady blink. I have 7 of them and this is the only one that is doing this. At first, it would only flash for about 15 minutes, then it would come on normally. Now it will keep flashing until I go toggle the switch to off, then to the blue lights, then off, then back on.

Does anyone know what is causing this? If it's something I can do to fix it, I'd prefer that over going through the whole warranty/shipping thing.

Have you checked the collection from the power wire to the fixture?

This was happening to me last week. On my fixture, the wire just got loose.

If not, it might the switch. I also had this problem on a coralife fixture. I had to change the switch on it and it works like normal now.
I ate my fish that died.

Just checked the connection, and it feels secure. I'll have to test this, but IF (big IF since I haven't truly tested this) it has something to do with it being 'warmed up' vs. 'cold from being off all night', what component could that be?

I'm asking because when I just went over to check the connections and mess with the switch, I had zero problems with it coming back on. I was worried that it was going to blink again, but it didn't.

I have 2 3' Marineland Double Bright LEDs on an auto-timer as well. Only 1 flickers a little (maybe 2-3 seconds when coming on) and then stays on for the programmed time. My schedule for them is:

          6:45am-8am
          12noon-1pm
          7pm-10pm

          Hope this helps you.
