  • Marineland Double Bright LEDs?

Looking for opinions on these. I did a quick search and didn't come up with any posts that talk about them, so does anyone have any thoughts to share? I'm looking to buy a couple of the 36" fixtures for a 135G.

    Thanks!

I have two 36" double bright on my 125g. A 48" double bright on my 100g. And an 18" single bright on my 40g. Yet, another reason to come over and peek at my bg job. 1 year warranty when bought new.

Perfect! That would be exactly what I need, which is to see them in person. That will likely seal the deal for me. I take it you're pleased with them?

Depends on what you are trying to do. You trying to grow plants or anything? If not, then they are nice. Low heat, low wattage, and nice shimmer.

I have two 36-48" on my 75g. One just didn't do the job for me. But with two, it's perfect for what I'm trying to do.

Nope, no plants. Freshwater, fish only, Malawis.

Your fish will not look as good with the double brights as they would with t5s, but the shimmer of the tank makes up for it.

Add some blue and they will :) the blue stunners I have really make the colors pop.

I should say that I've not seen double brights In person. Their blue might have the same effect.

I would love to have 2-36 inch ones, or just one 48" like rmalford has on his 100 gallon tank, but too dang expensive. they would make a big difference in the way my tank is lit. plus you can leave them on 24/7

Why would you ever want them on 24/7?

I like mine. I like the fact NO bulb replacement = save money.

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to grab a pair of 36" fixtures, like I mentioned before. I found them on sale. Given that I don't keep the lights on all day, these things can last five years. That's nice, given the cost of replacement bulbs for traditional fixtures.
