Overflow noise

My overflow seems to be extremely loud. What else can I do to make it more quiet. I have already put sponges in there but its still loud

I think a stand pipe might help.

I believe it will raise the water level in the overflow that way the water don't have a long drop and less noise

this was the first site google showed....

if you have a built in overflow a durso standpipe will sig lower the noise volume. It raise the water level so the water doesn't fall as far and make a continuous siphon so you don't get the gurgling sounds.

Okay so I have to say thus is the best thing I have built so far. It's actually quiet. I'm really amazed and it only took 10th minutes to build and only cost 12 bucks
