I purchased a carbon snake from the DIY king himself, Mr. Crowder. Anyways, I havnt used it for awhile and the water coming out is darker than my normal tap water. Is this normal? Its not a HUGE difference in color and the water parameters seem to be about the same. Does the carbon need to be replaced or should I just run the water for 30 min or so and see whats up. Thanks.

Here are the pics. LEFT tap water, RIGHT is tap water through the carbon snake. Also, when I initially start it up...EVERYTIME for about the first 30 seconds or so, the water comes out VERY black then starts to clear up.
OK, HERE YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE SMALL PARTICLES OF CARBON.
There is also a small leak on the "output" section of the snake. Its always been like this.
If someone (fshfrk) or anyone could help me fix this snake, I will gladly pay a fee or I have a lot of equipment to trade for you labor. I need this fixed ASAP because I have some shrimp coming in soon. Thanks for any advice or help.ADA mini-m planted

Vanson, the carbon snake is for remove chorine, that is the parameter you need to know. Ammonia 0 means that your tap water doesn't have chloramines (at least at this momment) and the snake (or carbon bottle) doesn't work well removing chloramines.
