I have a mulberry tree in my back yard and companies sell the leaves and I feed them to my yellows right off the tree but I rinse it a bit

I have had good luck with oak and other hardwood leaves feeding fry. There are tiny microrganisms that are present on the leaves and they are the perfect first fry food. I have not noticed a huge change in PH in the tanks, however without purigen or something like it you will see the tannins. As with all things gathered outdoors you must be carefull of the collection site (fertiliser, pestacide etc.)
