I own 3 fx5's and love them , I only open them about every three months with no problems . If your worried about sand being sucked in , just cut the inlet tube so it is set ferther from the bottom . If anyone has a fx5 they don't want , I'm in the market for one . ThanksDon't tell fish stories where people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish.
