  • Issues w/ Eheim Professionel 3 - 2075

I've had this filter in storage b/c it started leaking one day and now I want to start using it again. I bought new rings and it still leaks between the motor housing and the body of the filter. Any ideas on a fix ??

you can flash boil the rubber to make it swell/softer and a thin layer of silicone paste helps.

Always use some kind of oring lube when installing them.

+1 to oring silicone. dont use vasoline, petroleum jelly can cause certain materials to swell and then break down. make sure its in there untwisted too, some of these orings have a flat side

are you sure its leaking there and not up around the stupid priming bulb so it just drips down? i had to rebuild a 2028 for that reason and it was hard to tell where the leak was until i fixed it. i have a 2075 as well and its been pretty solid, i try not to use the bulb tho.

Last night it looked like it was coming from the power cord. I stopped the flow and saw some dripping out the right side also.

I looked at a parts diagram and I only saw one piece I could order in the motor head. If water is coming from the power cord it could be the priming bulb right? How did you fix that? I didnt see a part on the diagram.

if its around the power chord then its likely the primer bulb o ring, i ordered mine for the pro II here:

give him a call and see if he can get it. to give you an idea of what to expect while replacing it check out the installation guide:

again for the pro II, but it should be somewhat similar

The only Eheims worth having are the Classic and Pro ll series .

i have to admit that my 2075 doesnt seem as robust as my 2028, i do like the new prefilter tray though. i just wish the baskets werent so dainty. i dislike stuffing classic series even more than that though
