  • Wet/dry question

I set up the wet/dry that I bought at the auction on my 1SA, with a 650 gph submersible pump, my problem is that it has raised my tank temp to 89 deg without a heater. Is this normal?

yes, pumps and other equipment produce heat depending on how efficient they are.

It is an industrial sub pump. I expected some temp increase, just not that much!

all depends on how the rest of your tank is set up, room temp, etc.

Room temp is 76 deg . Temp is taken using a fluke digital laser temp gun.

                    89 is real high playa.

                    You need an eheim.

i have a 9.5 but idk if i want it to leave my hands lol it makes WC so much faster LOL

what Q meant by tank setup is: the tank open top? glass top? MH lighting? canopy? LED lighting? T5 lighting? how close off the water is the light? what do you have INSIDE the tank? ETC.

Glass under standard t8 lights, no canopy, gravel and driftwood decor, Rena xp3, and ac 110 for filtration along with the new wet dry. Ceiling fan near the tank...... I can't think of anything else. I could trade you this pump, and some cash....

Try testing the fluke, I honestly wouldn't question it but you never know.

I trust raytech more when it comes to laser/infrared temp but fluke is a strong name as well.
