I have a bunch of that salt at home. I wasn't sure if I can use it in the tank. It's called diamond crystal pellets the yellow bags they sell at local hardware

It should be ok My water softener system uses salt to back flush the water softener so there is no anti caking agents in it. When you look at the pellets it is just raw salt formed into a pellet under high pressure....
