I was wondering what's a good depth to have the propeller pump set at? I have it around the middle of the tank. Where does all the MP users have it to make the nice waves and water movement?

All my tanks have Vortechs in pairs. One is as low as possible without blasting any of the live rock and/or corals, or making a sandstorm. The other is as high as possible without sucking in too much air from the surface. The high one I have pointed to the overflow box (if there's only one) to keep floating debris from collecting on that end of the tank.

Basically just play with it til you find the perfect flow. BTW, all my pumps are in Reef Crest Random and I do use 10hrs of Night Mode at 50%.

I have mine about 8" - 10" below surface, in 29" and 30" tall tanks. Not looking make waves, but clearing of detritus.

I think it's the yellow setting with the first two LEDs lit brightly. That's what I have in my 280

It's the same thing. There are two Random settings - Reef Crest and Tidal Pool or something like that.

Ecotech should make their systems communicate with a computer. They can already communicate wirelessly among themselves (bluetooth technology perhaps?) so maybe it's not so hard to let them communicate with a computer. It would be sooo much easier to change and set all the different settings. And especially apparent recently, it would be much easier to set my Night Mode after all the settings get cleared from a power outage!

I like my Night Modes to start around 11pm so I have to wait until 11pm then run around and reset each tank.
