Has anyone tried one of these canisters ? Seems cheap but I'm thinking it might work great for polishing the water up and extra bacteria surface {sponges} . I don't believe you can run media or carbon with this unit . Thinking of running it along side a fx5 .

I imagine it would work well as a Purigen/bio media filter, with little restriction you should not have a problem. If you try it out let us know what you think

A couple people on Trophs.com were using them . They stated in threads.. last year that they work really well . If you google that filter it may pull up those threads along with a couple from some guys on plantedtank.com . All in alll....I've heard good things about that filter . It's just a Fluval FX5 knock off . All of the FX5 parts fit this filter .

Hahaha funny thing is I was looking at this and the CFS 11/14i. Good price and on YouTube the 500 pushed a decent amount of water.
