  • Cloudy water in tank with two canister filters

    Upgraded my 75 gallon with two canister filters one is a nera filstar and a ehiem 2217 been running for 4 days how much longer before my water clears up... Also I change to gravel pre washed but still a bit cloudy. Help?

    If you changed the substrate and have new filters your tank is cycling again.

            Yea all my cichlids are in there they were pulled from my 55 gallon which has crystal clear water with a 60 gallon hob filter

              If you still have the 55 gallon set up I would put the fish back in it till your tank finishes its cycle. If it isn't set up you need daily water changes

                This is my first time using canisters how long woul it take to have the tank fully cycled

                  It is hard to say. If you are adding a bacteria additive or not it could be a week or a month or more...

                    Put the fish back in the 55 gal.

                    If the 55 gallon is taken down then put the 60 gallon HOB filter on your current setup and hope that it still has some good bacteria to help it cycle.

                    If you don't have either then you're going to have to do daily water changes.

                      add a bacteria colony starter solution. Seachem stability.

                        Or find someone who has some used media or a used sponge filter that you can use to establish your tank .
