I have the opportunity to acquire a cement bottom aquarium. Being that I've never owned a tank like this one, Im skeptical. Anyone have advice on cement bottom tanks? Should I bother?

Hm... never dealt with a cement tank. I've only seen them at fish farms and the such. Concerns would be;
1. Weight
2. Algae and other gunk building up on the surface of the bottom
3. Depending on the variety of cement used, cement is prone to slowly dissolving, and micro-pores form that allow water to get in. This will compromise the integrity of the bottom.
With all that said, because I've never heard of anyone using them, privately or commercially, I would assume that they are an impractical choice.75 planted (Being Renovated)
