PS: why wait for a panic situation to arise though?

Thanks to everyone for your input & suggestions. Yall are always so helpful. I feel much better now. Fish don't seem bothered at all. More filter, maintain normal feeding schedule, remove the gravel & bigger water changes it shall be. Can't get a new filter till the 1st unless one falls out of the sky, so it will have to wait until then. Thanks guys!

This is true, Sunny & Sunky. Most times it's better to be proactive than reactive. One of the reasons I asked before I did anything is because I'm still a big dummy. I'm learning but I've still got my dunce hat on when it comes to a lot of things which is why I ask a seemingly dumb question every 5 minutes.

I didn't want to do something that I didn't have to or that was unnecessary, which could turn out even worse so I asked, "Panic or no". I know 40 is safe, but over that can be bad for tropicals. Looks like I got some work to do this week.

You made a mistake, we all have. You cannot have my dunce hat. I earned it, lol.

Hasn't caused me an issue till now, but the more I imagine all the poop & debris that can gather in it, the more I think it would be easier just to have a glass bottom.

On another, more happy note, the Creamsicle Lyretail Molly I bought on Wednesday gave birth last night in that tank. No telling how many she had before I found them, but we put 36 into the fry tank. I wonder what these babies are mixed with cuz a lot of them are half black. I've never owned a Creamsicle but I can't imagine they start out black. Will be interesting to see how they develop!
My brother's gf's creamsicles gave birth as well a few days ago and just like you, we also have some that are black and there are some that are orange. It may be the other mollies that were in the tank with them at the store?

That was my first thought, too. For the most part, these have orange heads and black bodies, only a handful are solid black or solid orange. Maybe they'll change? Not sure. Never bought a fish that was already knocked up before. I got her from the PetSmart in Tomball on Wednesday. The only other mollies in with her were creamsicles, since they have them separated by color. There's no telling what your brother's gf and mine were in the tank with last month. Hookers! LOL

First, I would feed at most, once a day. I feed my fish every second or third day. The only exception are warm-water fish like discus which got fed twice daily.

What fish do you keep in that tank?

Hi Mark. I had to go take a head count, lol. In that tank, as of right now there are:

                          9 assorted lyretail mollies
                          1 painted molly
13 red wag mollies (2 adults, 11 juvies)
                          20+/- fancy guppies
                          1 red flame endler
                          1 cobra guppy
                          2 electric green tetras
                          5 Glofish
                          5 neon tetras
                          5 zebra danios

You can feed that tank every other day and the fish will be just fine. Overfeeding is one of the biggest mistakes we hobbyists make.

+1 to what Mark said about those fish being OK with being fed every other day.
