    I have never used Prime before but heard good things . I ordered a gallon of it and on amazon and it got here friday . I just opened the box right now and it has a strong sour water smell . Is this normal ????

    Yep, seems pretty normal. Its good stuff, best there is for water conditioners. Been using it for years and have never had any issues or problems. Good buy on your end hope ya like the stuff.

      It's chemicals.. I would assume so. I don't use Prime though. I use Kordon's Amquel+ and it smells funny too

          i went from zip drops to amquel plus to Prime and have stayed with it for a long time.

          Yeah it stinks but it's top shelf stuff.

            Yeah, it's normal for prime to have that smell.

              Prime is the best stuff on the market for treating our crappy TX tap water. The smell is normal. Prime is easier and cheaper than a serious water filter system (initial purchase). It also takes up little space. Good buy.

                If you invest in a carbon bottle, it will save you money from constantly buying chemicals. Not only that, if you decide your hungry and want to eat your wet pet it won't taste as nasty!

                  I've been giving the carbon bottle idea some series thought . But lacking the $ , I might try and DIY 1 .

                    You should do it! Kiko posted a half-#@$ed DIY thread (it's not a step-by-step thread) about his carbon bottle he made. He only spent about $50 for a simple carbon bottle
