  • Anyone purchased an Eheim pro 3 gasket set locally?

I have an Eheim Pro 3 2080 that came with my 125 that all of a sudden started leaking today after a water change when the filter had not been touched. We finally figured out it's missing the teardrop impeller gasket. I'd rather find a gasket set locally than order one online. Has anyone found a set of gaskets for one locally or does anyone by chance have an extra gasket set they would like to sell? I'm going to make some calls tomorrow but was hoping I could avoid that.

I think I saw some at City Pets today .

Beat me to it. I was just gonna say that city pets usually has a lot of replacement parts for the eheims. I'd look there first and they don't have it then you'd probably have to order it online

Thanks for the heads up! City pets is actually the first place on my list to call this morning. I was there for the first time Friday and was mesmerized by the selection they have, not just fish but also parts and supplies.

Well ended up having to order it through City Pets but they should have it in tomorrow so it all works out. Now just to figure out what to do until I get them. The filter is leaking about a gallon an hour and is shut off at the moment after running for a few hours this morning.

use a powerhead or airstones to keep the water oxygenated. the fish should be able to tolerate the lack of filtration unless you are grossly overstocked.

It's a 125 with about 10 small fish in it so it's way understocked. It's got air going into it via 4 airstone spaced out so I think it will be ok until we get the parts.

if your biomedia is established then take it out of the filter and put it in a media sock placed in the tank so that you can put an airstone under it and keep it alive.

A good idea to order your next set online now. Not only is it cheaper but you won't hit the panic button next time, order your pad set too. Always have spares at the ready. I have spares for my spares and always order just as soon as I use my last spare.

Good advice! If I had owned this pain in my rear for more than a month and a half then I would already have spare parts sitting around for it. You can bet that once I get this leak fixed I will be ordering some.

i have eheim pro II and IIIs around and I buy my spares from Trilby Tropicals. He ships quickly and since I think that he is an authorized repair center he offers some parts that you cant find otherwise. For instance, try finding the primer bulb seal for a pro II anywhere else, eheim wont sell them to you. They want you to drop another hundy on a motor housing.

I try to keep 2 filters per tank , really helps in times like this .Also when cleaning your canisters , you can do one at a time without loosing bacteria .
