K1/3 and bioballs are basically the same if used in a canister. Yes it was made to run in a fluidized bed so the old dead Bactria will fall off the surface of the k1/3 to make room for new bacteria to grow in its place. Running it in a canister or as a replacement for bio balls doesn't mean it doesn't work or defeats the purpose. It still works.

So bro, if you are really trying to question my experience or insult my level of intelligence please do your research or only chime in when you feel you are absolutely sure or willing to accept where you are wrong.

My point was that using it in a stagnant or a non-fluidized state would defeat it's main purpose or selling point which also would be an expensive route to take when considering that it will not be used to it's full potential.
If media for a canister filter was topic of discussion then in that case I would like to submit my opinion if that is ok with the leet here, Matrix/pond matrix or sintered glass rings would be a much better option than kaldness or bioballs. There is more surface area in comparison which would allow for more hosting within a smaller amount of area. So in that sense, more bang for your buck as well as limited space constraints.175g - fw flounder tank

See, now you're playing semantics. "Used to make" is not the same as "they make".
as for your second bit, regardless of when, it was still "Made" and "exist" which you and cuong failed to know and pointed out that my level experienced should be questioned since there was no such thing.175g - fw flounder tank

Who pays full price? I'm asian, we never pay full price or tax.
Are you assuming that the op was not going to pay full price?
I based my input on the fact assumption that we are comparing the majority and not on off situations.175g - fw flounder tank

I'm sure there are plenty tweakings to be done which I am sure you were introduced into that as well but at the same time worried based on your own fear but again... I felt we were discussing the what is and not the what could be's.
again, I felt this was an open forum and discussion which the op asked for opinions of the media in consideration. I supplied it based on the key points of the media which would assume based on retail price as well and gave my 20pesos worth.
If this has become your thread and only your opinion rules then I will gladly accept.Last edited by Notsoballinxhobo; 07-21-2012, 12:31 PM.175g - fw flounder tank

You're as guilty of derailing as much as everybody in the conversation now hobo.
No stalemate is not "tuned" to checkmate yet, because you still have failed to point out exactly what's so bad about running two wet/drys on one tank besides stating opinions and saying the sky's falling rather than explaining to us how exactly what you warn of happening will happen. Hell you failed to explain the nature of failure to begin with.

Since the majority of us don't run two W/D filters, or run K1/K3 in them, you failed to notice that this is in fact a one-of and tailor your replies accordingly.
