Question about an inline heater.

Here is my dillema. A fellow member has a hydor 300 inline heater for sale that I am very interested in. The problem is that I will be having 2 eheim 2217s running my 65g. So if I only have the one inline heater attached to only one of the canister filters, will the water ever be heated evenly in the tank. I hope my question is easyto understand. Thanks for any help given.

I've got a similar setup. You'll be fine.

Water will be evenly heated because it will get circulated in the tank.

You should be ok, have been using just one on my 72g for years.

It won't be as even right after a water change but it will eventually heat up the whole tank. As long as you have some water circulation, you'll be fine.

i have mine like this and its no problem, thermal energy dissipates pretty quickly within a fluid body like water. with decent flow you probably couldnt even measure a gradient.

i like them so far, been using for maybe four months. seems to be good quality to me

The hydor is glass internally, so it can crack and leak, aside from leaking at the fittings. That makes me nervous. It's a shame nobody makes a titanium in-line.

That is the type I am running right now on my eheim 2217. Its a Hydor 300. So far so good!

i think that its still alot better than in tank. if you have it inline and mounted securely so its not bashing around then theres not much that can crack it unless you start shooting marbles through your canister. the outer cover seems tough enough to do the job protecting it. im sure the design can still get a sticky temp switch though and thats what i worry about.
