Sound like a good idea , should be a cleaner look with matching overflow . Let us know how it turns out

You'll like the blue background sunny turned me onto it and I love it just wish I could do my 65 blue but being reef ready it'll look funky

Me too! The colors seem to pop more.

Only thing I'm hesitant about is, my tank is already up and running. I have about 100 fish in it and about 200 lbs of rocks. Would be heck trying to break it down and paint it. I'll figure something out.

your only painting the back. drain it and pull it away from the wall enough to get behind it.

Painting the overflow too. Have to let it sit enough time to cure. Won't be running for at least a day.

Is the part you're going to paint removable?

Do you have any other filtration running?

Not enough filtration to feel safe. I'll paint the back then figure the rest out later.

I still say just get a clear overflow box and just paint the back.

Unless you have your lights on for long periods of time. Your overflow box will start to grow algae and throw off the look just as your black overflow would do the same against a blue background. If you happen to get a clear overflow box, I'd paint the inside of it. It gives it a nicer look.

+1 on painting the overflow box because the lights will grow the algae inside the box. thats what made me paint my clear one black. and i think you'll be on without a wet dry for a day or 2 just dont feed as much as you would regularly

Yep either feed very minimal or feed none. They can last for a few days without food.

+1 or think of fish in the wild. Some don't eat for weeks. Either that or think of bettas at the big box stores. They seem like they don't get fed for months and they look okay
