I'm upgrading from an ac30 to a new filter. Was thinking 2217 but not sure if that's too much.

Depends on What your keeping I guess but I don't think it would be to much -

Next to nothing with bioload - I'd go with a sponge filter/hob power filter combo. Sponge for bio, then use a hob to mechanical/water clarityComment

You should probably order the sponge prefilter add on or make a DIY intake for that. Eheim intakes have pretty large gaps, guppy fry or heck, even adults may get sucked upComment

What filter for a 30 breeder?
I have a 2213 on my 29 gallon tank and its pretty awesome. Just wasn't sure if a 2217 would be too much or not but I think the 2215 will a crap ton better than ac30.29 Gallon SA Tank -- 5 Bleeding Heart Tetras, Mated Pair of Angels, 7 Green Corys, and a Rubberlip Pleco

Small ADA nano (~8gal): ... BKK or OEBT breeding tank in the works!
