            i havent noticed my eheim pros heating the water or even getting hot. maybe the classics do, try cooling them if they feel hot to the touch.

              My 2217s never get hot interesting as or external pumps I hve never used them so I just thought they use a suction just get a internal on and save u time and money

                I don't think the filters are getting hot and when I touch them they seem fine. But my water was steady around 79 prior to adding the eheims and since then the water jumped to 85. And now its around 81.5 or so after turning one of them off

                    Did you get the temp reading after a W/C? My water reads 83 after wc and slowly drops back to a constant 80 in a 48hr span

                        +1 on Cuon. After water change it change 79 I have it to 83. Check more than 24hrs after a WC to see the temp

                          Ok, my tap comes out at 83.5-84 degrees. I guess I'll have to do a water change late night so the pipes can cool off. It explains my problem. Sucks for breeding though.

                            that is some hot watter what i do sometimes is let the run for a while then fill up the tank bc of the hot water that been in the sun

                              I run the water for a while as well. Not just to make sure all the hot water is out, but also to make sure nothing is in the hose
