    Re: Egg Tumbler

Now we're getting somewhere. The air stone needs to be above the top screen. That screen is impeding bubbles flowing out and therefore water flowing out.

And replace that screen, it's no good with a big hole in it

Cuong told me I needed to cut that hole to place the air stone through it.

Nothing is working. I removed air stone to produce more bubbles, adjusted the elbow, placed the tumbler at different levels in the water. Nothing is working. I'm just gonna assume its a flawed design that needs adjustments. Fortunately the fry are free swimming and only need oxygen.

Wait, there are three screens in that?

OK, remove the top screen and leave the air stone just above the middle screen like it is in the second video you posted

I think that's enough tumbling for them. I removed the elbow and tried it without the air stone. I pressed as hard as I could against the screen to try to produce some pressure and it made the eggs jump over an inch. So I figured pressure was needed. I stuffed some filter floss in the same place that the elbow slips into. It's still without the air stone, so I can produce larger bubbles.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm about to try one I bought for the first time, and wanted to verify that the premise here is just to provide some gentle motion. Is that correct? Just enough to keep them from sitting still on the bottom of the tumbler?

Some like the eggs to bounce some like them to float around. But yes as long as they don't sit in one spot you're ok

Recommended to be a "soft" tumble or bounce.

My idea is to attach an air pump with a dial for variable flow to be able to control that. Sound OK?
