Disinfecting nets

Does anybody disinfect nets to stop cross-contaminating parasites, snails, and such from tank too tank? If so, please explain how you do it and what you use. Thanks.

Most folk I know use 1 part bleach to 10 parts water, though I never usually do this to our nets. Should we ever have any disease in our tanks I would though. I'd just give them a little rinse in Prime after bleaching them. Even a small sprayer bottle would probably work and be much less hassle then setting up a dip bucket.

I dip my nets in boiling hot water. But I only do it If its been in a tank with sick or dead fish. other then that I just wash out in the sink...

i just wash n sink and let it air dry... dont use nets that often and when i even do its been awhile in between each use and everything should of died...at least i hope lol

Would letting it dry in the sun mean UV combined worth drying will kill what's on the nets?

I put it on hot water and then in the sun , Texas sun would
Kill anything on the net lol!! Never had a problem doing this way , the sun rays are gonna do the work .

I allways see nets sitting in stores in a bucket of some type of blue water. ?? Not sure whats in it.
But i think a bucket of straight tap with some copper safe will kill stuff. Never had an issue like this before.

Not sure Sunny, i just see pet stores having their nets in a blue-ish water bucket

That should be meth blue. Pretty sure I don't have to explain the meth blue and what it does but yea that method should work or like others are doing. Put the Texas sun to work.

I just wash well in a sink and then let it air dry. There are several times where I had some sort of parasite or disease in my tank and there haven't been any transfer of the parasite or disease that I know of or can see.

Vinegar and hot water. Old school, but some things never change. Great preventative and disinfectant. If I have any type of problem, I'll then go to bleach and water - then after rinsing, soak in water with prime or dechlorinator.
