Can you lay an eheim on the side?

Trying to save space, I want to lay my eheim 2213 on its side. Think it'll work?

It was made to stand vertically, so I'd leave it standing vertically. If you do decide to lay it on it's side, let me know how it turns out and if there is any damage to the filter.

So far, nothing wrong with it. Just had to fix a little leak in the tubing that got cut. The bottom of my shelf is too low to stand it vertically and I don't want it sitting out in the open, it would look just too strange.

I wouldn't lay mine on the side simply because of leaking possibilities.

+2, also I'm not sure if laid on the side you will get the full use of the media. Probably do but I would find a way to stand it up.

You lose the efficiency of the eheim classics and I think in the long run you also burn out the impeller sooner than norm.
