  • Cleaning old media

How do you guys clean old media to restore it back to almost new condition, meaning there's no bacteria left at all. I don't trust that the media I just acquired is healthy and I don't want any issues with my fish.

Just rinse in tap water. The chlorine will kill most of it

What type is it? You can bleach it if you feel you need to. Just rinse with hot water and then declorinate it for a while.

That was my original plan. I just like to hear what others advise.
