  • lights just went out

So i just put a brand new bulb in my ballest and its still not working so i took it apart to look at it and theres the starter/condensor thing and there is also a box. How do i test to find out what is bad in the ballest since i know the bulb is fine?

Why not just buy a new ballast?

Usually replace the starter with the bulb after burning out.

Whats the size lamps your working with here. Need some info......usually hd carries most ballast's for a standard t8. How u can tell its bad is if theres like black gooey stuff coming out and it may have a burned look to it.

If you have the money switch to LED lights. If not carry on.

its just one of the cheap ones...takes 2 24" bulbs...its for one of my small tanks so i didnt really wanna spend the money for leds or a new ballest....i will order a new starter and see if that fixes it
