  • wet/dry filter help. Also sump vs eheim 2217s

hey everyone. I have a 150g FW tank right now running on 2x eheims 2217 and 1 eheim 2215. i got a 210g tank that is reef ready. Im looking to just put the stock that in my current 150g in the 210g and sell the 150g. i wanted to make a sump for the 210g but not sure if that would be better then the filters that i got or how much it would cost to do that. I also have a 60g with 2 eheim 2215s. I want to convert the 60g to SW and not sure if a sump would be better suited for that either. Very new to sumps and just wondering what yall think.

For sw imho a fuge/sump is the way to go less maintence and allows for a good population of pods to form and the macro algae takes care of the nitrates on my 125g i run both wetdry and an fx5

For any tank setup I prefer a sump or wet/dry over a canister. In your case, a large sump would outperform those tiny filters. For sw, I'd also go with a sump for reasons johnny mentioned. Canisters are nitrate sinks when it comes to sw.
