  • Lighting for Red Kachese

Sold my LEDs because the reds weren't popping enough. I took my 48" GLO light and put it on my 125. Kinda like the look of it whenever the fish became comfortable enough with it. My background is black at the moment but I'm hoping to get help from a friend or two to help me strip the paint and paint it blue. Gonna add a red bulb from sunny to help pop the red out. Other than LEDs any suggestions?

The color of hardscape can also help to enhance the natural coloring of the fish. What color are your rocks?

A quick Google image search shows people keeping them with lighter color rocks. I'm sure the images has been tweaked a bit though... Have you ever tried a lighter rock with these guys.

With lights, I find It best to try and mimic the sun as best I can.

Red, that would maximize the red color you seek.

White would be cool too cause then it would make the red stand out on the fish.

White would be sweet, algae would stick out like a sore thumb though...
