I have never hook up a close loop system filtration before. It seem like a big risk if not done correctly. For those who have experience with these type of close loop system filtration, what all is needed. I've just pick up a ehiem 2262 also have the bulk head with the threads and of course have silicone on hand. This will be install in a 240g, tank is currently empty. Thanks in advance.

first, measure your drilling holes to make sure they fit the bulkheads you have.
You can bring those bulkheads to city pet and get you two adapters ( to connect from those bulkheads to your hoses-input and output hoses got different sizes->different size of output for adapters).
I used slip-on type bulkheads and it was a lot easier to install-just used some prime+pvc glue to glue adapters to bulkheads, then inserted the hoses to adapters and used clamps to keep the hoses in place.
from my experience, slip-slip bulkhead is easier to work with, so, on the side inside your tank, you can put a little pvc pipe to raise your input and output over your substate level, thats way sand or whatever dont get sucked in your filter.
hope that helps.
