Help FX5 just started humming

So the fx5 started humming noise from the motor I left it un plug while i went to work. Anyone have similar issues before? I plan on taking a look at it when I get home but would like some insight. Any help is appreciated Thanks.

Mine does that from time to time maybe some sand in there if clean i hit it a few times and its all good only does it after i clean it

Cool yea I just cleaned it yesterday, figure it could be sand. I left it unplug didnt want to burn up motor

If u do have sand in it, id take the motor assembly off and clean it out good. Its never good to have sand grinding on impellers !

Wow guess what was in the motor.......... Eheim media!!! Problem solve!!!

Wow lucky it didnt bust the impeller

I also put some floss underneath the eheim media in the baskets so they don't fall out

Lucky lucky, good thing ya took it apart and checked it out. Those motor assemblys arent cheap! Glad you got it worked out tho.

its just an Fx5 you have 3 of them but yea im glad it works. I pulled out 6 eheim pellets. I think im gonna go ahead and bag them up so this does not happen again
