Filter question

Ok here's the question we have a 16' above ground pool and we replaced the cartridge filter with a big sand filter and I'm thinking of running the old filter on my 125 gallon tank puts out a lot of flow and would be for polishing the water mainly. Anybody ever done this? And what do yall think of it

Didn't think it would be a problem just main thing is letting all the chlorine bake off of it in the sun then running some prime through it... Also need to make a in/outlet for it as well
