  • Carbon Bottle

I have been waiting patiently for a carbon bottle and my patience paid off. I scored a monster and was asked if I wanted to sell it. Not. I have rinsed 50lbs of activated carbon that was in 1lb mesh bags. There is a cap that opens for me to funnel the carbon to the tank and then I will add gravel so that the carbon will not float.

Thanks to special0812 (Tony) for the empty tank and fshfrk (John) for the hooking up the connections on the bottle.

    LMK what you guys think.

                        Questions:
How much catalytic carbon to add?
                        Approx. cost?
Is it sold local and if so where?

Well since you've got 50lbs of Activated Carbon, maybe 5-15lbs of Catalytic Carbon? It's very expensive. Online is about $125 for 32lbs.

Stephen, I have to pass up on the catalytic carbon because I have spent my quota on fish gear for the next 3 - 6 months. I will continue using the safe or prime but small doses.
