hey i bought some of this the other day.  It finally came in.  I mail ordered it.  Well anyway,  I get it home and realize that when it says it treats 175 to 200 gallons, it literally means that the one jar treats that.  not that u can use it to treat small gallon sizes.  well i learnt something.  it also says not to split it apart.  does or has anyone done so?  this is crzy.  i never though that one jar was for one tank.  i figured the bigger the jar id get the more tanks i could use it for.  lol.

Two suggestions...

1.  Get a smaller media bag and make another bag or two.

2.  Use the one bag and instead of replacing it in 3 months, go 6 months.

I use the regular Chempure and it is one bag per 50 gallons.  2-bags per 100 gallons, and then 1-bag per 25 gallons above that and replace every 3-4 months.  I love this stuff, it keeps Nitrates minimized, pH stabilized, and the water crystal clear.

thanks.  yeah the bottle says not to open media bag and split it up but why not?  im going to split it up.  i have to. cant put it all in the filter.  lol

I have the largest bottle in my NC12g.......2mths now and no problems.
