  • Painting a stand

So here's the 125 I scooped off Craigslist for $150. My issue is this color doesn't match a damn thing in our apartment and it's not real wood. It looks like particle board covered with a plastic facade. What can I do to paint this? I'm thinking I can just sand it all down and prime/paint with a spray paint. Will it look good painted? Or should I just deal with it?

It's a matter of personal preference if you can deal with it than its less work. Sand prime and paint. I usually use a brush to paint.

I have no problem putting in some work, I just don't want to waste my time if it's not gonna look right. You would use regular paint? Any suggestion on a type that will hold on such a surface?

Krylon fusion or Rustoleum painter's touch paint + primer are your two best options for good adhesion.

Thanks Sunny. Do I still need to sand?

If you want, but given that you're dealing with a particle board with veneer I'd just clean it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, mask and spray on a few light coats
