If you have the purigen and the bag for it then use it...most people who I've bought or traded from who used excessive amounts of purigen had the clearest water I've ever seen...fish looked like they were floating in the air...

Agreed. Just added 150 ml of it into my sump on 125g. Water looks ridiculously clear. Fish look like they are floating.

Well it will be put to use in about 2 weeks time. Gotta get through the QT process first. Gonna find a way to use it in the sump and save the 2217 for hospital or fry tank.

All the media bags I used the holes were to big and purigen was leaking in the tank water. I also tried the paint strainer bags from Sherwin Williams. I used panty hose but panty hose will deteriorate over time.

Very true you have to use a media bag with a micron of 180 (200 really will work) or smaller. You can't just use a plan media bag like you would for eheim media. The way to use panty hose is to not stuff it full. You have to visually inspect it prior to use for any imperfection. Panty hose degrades very quickly though. I have not looked into the paint strainer bags, but plan to today.

wow 2L for 135 gal tank that will be awesome clean water. I would do 2 bags 1L of each bag. One in the sump and another for back up when you recharge another bags. I will use double or triple paint strainer bags in case it leak. just find out Petmountain.com 2 L for $72.99 plus 10% off.

I will use "The Bag" from SeaChem most likely. Each bag is supposed to hold 500mL so 4 bags wont be that bad. being the size they are I have options for placement which is nice. I may also reserve 1L as I am trying to work on setting up an extra tank/hospital tank/nursery. I have some time to think it all out. I wont be able to use it for at least two weeks.

No sense in that. I have the purigen. The amount I have now will do better than just 1-100mL bag. I understand what seachem says about, 100mL for every 100 gallons but have seen examples of where it worked but it was used up to quickly because there was not enough of it.
