There tanks are known for busting because of the design some had. Curved corners. Many have had them for years with no problem, then one day the seals give way and the entire front of the tank falls off. That's why I got rid of mine, a month after I got it.

I have a 48" quad light with timer from them. It is very good. Been 3 years without any problem.
Their power-head is okay, but good for their price.

Not sure. You'll have to gurgle it.
The store is dirty, like they've never seen the detergent isle of a grocery store, and there are roaches everywhere, but the fish are very well kept.
I watched them feeding them. All live worms and fresh chopped veggies. It looked like a hotel buffet for a cichlid convention. :)

One customer wanted a big cichlid but he wouldn't buy food for it. He said he had tons of old goldfish flakes at home. She refused to sell him the fish and kicked his @ss out. lol :)

if not, see if they sell walter worms or white worms. You can grow them yourself effortlessly and they're better. They survive for hours in water, just wiggling away, so they tend to all get eaten eventually, leaving you with a cleaner tank.
walter worms are fry-size food and you just feed them a little oatmeal or cornmeal. Then the fry graduate to the bigger white worms. They just need a spoonful of yogurt now & then.

This reminds me of some customers want to buy my fish. We talked for a while and the guy told me his tank is not cycled. I had to hold off my sale. Bummer!

Have you thought about running a oversized canister filter, and then doing a DIY inline heater, or Hydor, and also a Inline CO2 reactor? I only am suggesting it because I use the heating cables in my tank, and they work great (the hydor cables are the ones I use), but I found that I hate them when it comes time to trim or move plants. The roots grow all around them, and when you pull the plant up, the heater comes up as well.
It is so irritating to have to redo the tank basically everytime you have to pull a plant out. So much so I have been switching all my tanks back over to inline heaters, even on my small tanks.
