I've thought that once I know my tank is cycled and I keep up with water changes that there's not much of a need to test.

    Thanks for the encouragement.

I just can't do all the buckets any more, bone disease in my back. I really like the idea of the way you do it though, very thorough.

I fill a 45 gallon trash can and put these in it with a airstone for at least an hour if not 2-3 to allow the chemicals to work. afterwards there is no trace detected on a test.

I have a 50ft Python to take water out, then add water back in straight from tab with SeaChem Safe. No problem thus far. No bucket for me!

I've been using a regular ole garden hose for years to empty and fill. I often think a python would be faster though.

Okay i see. My python is 5/8" same as garden hose but i hook it up to a submersible pump to take the water out faster. Take 15 minutes to empty 150 gallons.

Yes, you are correct. Without the pump, it will take me half a day for doing water change. I just ordered another Python so I can pump water out and refill other tanks at the same time.

I use a 1,250 Gph submersible pump to do mine
