Reef Octopus question

I purchased a classic reef octopus skimmer 100 for the75g. The problem is the aquarium is too close to the wall the fit, plus I have a canopy. I'd rather not try and move it but I will if necessary. Have any of you had success in installing this hob protein skimmer under the aquarium using pvc?

move the tank. I had to move my big tank to install a HOB overflow I wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
